9mary could be a lost siren; she exhibits fragility in her song, yet is strong enough to drag you under with her. Certainly there is a sinking feeling that envelops the chorus of this song, yet one that is matched equally with a sense of release.

I have really high hopes for this artist. The harmonies and textures in her music feel cool and effortless, yet harness an incredible depth and power. It is an act that appears to be in the early stages and 9mary is without doubt a highly intelligent and talented musician; so I’m excited to see what comes next.

Tom Odell - ‘Hold Me’

I was surprised last year how much I enjoyed Tom Odell’s EP, given his target market. In the same vein as Adele’s album 21 I think it’s really refreshing to hear some pop songs coming through that are reliant on decent song writing, and backed up by musical talent.
